Wellness Corner! Here you can find mental health information & resources, coping techniques, and encouragement. If you are struggling, reach out to a trusted adult, your school counselor or use the resources below to find the support you need.
Mental health impacts not only our students but our families, schools, and communities. One in five children struggle, or at some point in their life will struggle, with their mental health. Half of all mental-health and substance-use conditions start before age 14.
Approximately one in five students who could benefit from additional mental-health supports does not get them.
Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving.
Our school counselors provide a wide variety of student-centered services and serve a multitude of roles and responsibilities within the school. They are uniquely qualified to address the academic, career and social/emotional development of all students. Delivered through a comprehensive school counseling program, M.S. 137’s counselors proactively engage and collaborate with students, school staff, administration, and families to help our students reach their full potential. Counselors work with students individually, in small groups, and within the classroom setting to support them in their personal growth.
Everyone has feelings. All feelings are okay and normal, but sometimes we may need help identifying those feelings. Giving your feeling a name makes it easier to talk about and to ask for help. Choose how you may be feeling below and hover over the card for more on how to help!
